Join Our Team as a Machine Operator/Fabricator

Interstate Advanced Materials is looking for a Machine Operator/Fabricator to join our Portland, OR team. In this critical role, you'll be part of a dedicated group that supports our plastic fabrication and distribution operations by producing high-quality, custom and OEM parts using CNC equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a 2-year technical degree in Machine Tool Technology to expand their knowledge or for an experienced fabricator looking to grow their skills in a supportive and innovative company. Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC Routers, CNC Mills, and CNC Lathes
    • Load/unload materials
    • Perform basic housekeeping to keep work areas clean and organized
    • Follow quality control procedures to ensure precision and accuracy
    • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauge, pin gauges, and other measuring tools
  • Finishing Fabrication
    • Deburring
    • Trimming using hand routers
    • Drilling using battery operated hand drills
    • Installing threaded inserts
  • Participate in Safety meetings, Production meetings, and Continuous Improvement meetings.
  • Take on other duties as needed to support the team
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Associate degree (2-year) in Machine Tool Technology or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in machining or fabrication will be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow detailed instructions
  • Strong basic math skills and high attention to detail
  • Positive attitude, solid communication skills, and a team-player mindset
  • Forklift experience is a bonus
